Holly’s Journey
For Holly, the end of one journey was the beginning of another. The Capital District resident was overjoyed to hear her medical team declare her free of breast cancer, but she felt there was an element missing from her story. She promised herself that when her cancer treatment was complete, she would finally create the smile she had always wanted.
“What I wanted more than anything was to have a style that would provide a certain amount of elegance,” she says, “while at the same time creating some more confidence in myself.”
Holly’s journey to her ideal smile was a long one. It included orthodontic treatment with braces, followed by cosmetic dental implants and porcelain crowns. But every step was worthwhile.
“I was very happy the day they told me I was cancer free, but I was missing my smile,” she says. “Dr. Frank gave me my smile back, and it means the world to me.”

The first step to Holly’s ideal smile involved traditional metal braces. It’s something that gives Holly some amusement now when she looks back at photos from her retirement to see herself with braces. “I enjoyed them,” she says. “I could tell they were leading to some place that I wanted to go.”
